The intersection of Weld County Road 17 and Weld County Road 54 will not see any traffic starting on May 8 for 100 days during the construction of a roundabout.

Mike Bedell, the Senior Engineer for Weld County Public Works Department, stated that the intersection is expected to reopen on August 15, 2020. Intermittent closures could be possible at the intersection through October during the finalization of the roundabout.

The new roundabout will be replacing the four-way stop at Weld County Roads 17 and 54. At the end of its construction, it will be able to handle the increase in traffic and also accommodate semi-trucks. Additionally, the roundabout is said to help mitigate a significant history of accidents at the intersection.

If you happen to take this route on your commute, be ready to have a detour plan in place.
