The Loveland Police Department is searching for a male suspect that was involved in a stabbing incident over the weekend.

According to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, officers responded to to a report of a stabbing at about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 30) in the 300 block of Frederick Drive in Loveland.

Upon arrival, police found a 42-year old male suffering from life-threatening knife wounds to his neck; the victim was taken to the Medical Center of the Rockies where he underwent surgery. The victim's health status was not released, as per reports from the Reporter-Herald.

Several witnesses at the scene were able to help police identify 33-year old Nicholas Mango as the suspect in the stabbing.

Police are seeking to arrest Mango on charges including attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Loveland PD wants the community to know that the assault was not random and there is no immediate threat to the general public, but Mango is considered dangerous, says the Loveland Reporter-Herald.
