There were only 11 recipients of The Colorado Lottery's 2019 Starburst Award.

One of those 11 is our very own Long View Trail.

If you're unfamiliar with the Starburst Award, let me break it down. The Starburst Award recognizes the use of Lottery proceeds to help with community and conservation projects.

There are different factors that play into getting chosen such as the creativity of the project, the economic/social affect on the community, and if the project achieved the determined goal.

"More than $16.2 million in Lottery funds is represented in these 11 projects. Two of the winning projects were the result of collaboration between neighboring municipalities or national non-profit organizations." -City of Loveland
