Lake Loveland’s South Shore Parkway to Get New Sculpture

There are just a few sculptures at Lake Loveland's South Shore Parkway, and in the spring of 2021, a new one will grace the area.

As someone who grew up in, and lives in, Loveland, I take a special interest in the city and our art.

The City of Loveland's 'Art in Public Places' announced that the newly donated, painted aluminum sculpture, 'Two Minds Meeting' sculpture will be installed in early April.

The sculpture was created by Melanie Yazzie, a Native American Professor of Printmaking at the University of Colorado Boulder.

Yazzie says that 'Two Minds Meeting' represents communication and coming together. That sounds like a piece of art that every city and town could use these days.

The sculpture was donated to the city by Sandra Harris Woods, in honor of her parents Ivan and Florence Woods, who were greatly involved in the Loveland business, arts, and non-profit sectors for over six decades.
