Krispy Kreme Challenge Results in Mans Death
I don't know who's idea it was to combine running, and eating a dozen doughnuts. But the end result turned out to be a man's death. According to the New York Post, the race called the Krispy Kreme Challenge, is organized by students at North Carolina State University, is in it's 12th year. Thousands of participants flock to the event every year, as they raise money for North Carolina Children's Hospital.
The goal of the event, is for participants to run 2 1/2 miles to the local Krispy Kreme, eat a dozen doughnuts, then run back to where they came from, completing the 5 mile run. According to reports, a 58-year-old man, who was complaining of chest pains, dropped out of the race during the first mile. He was taken to the hospital, where he succumb to a heart attack and was pronounced dead.
