Kip Moore Covers Josh Turner for St. Jude Kids [Watch]
Kip Moore doesn't shy away from helping others or getting behind causes he believes in. The "Running for You" singer recently spent the day at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, where he met with young patients.
In a short video clip, Moore is seen hanging out with three of the patients while they're working on an art project. After asking each their favorite songs, he breaks into Josh Turner's "Your Man" for one patient. Trying to imitate Turner's deep, baritone voice, Moore had the entire room in laughter as he used his fist for a pretend microphone and put his arm around one of the patients as he serenaded her.
"That's how he sounds?" he asked.
Moore will perform on Aug. 10 at Ascend Amphitheater as part of a radio station fundraiser concert in Nashville that benefits St. Jude.
Earlier this month, Moore posted a heartfelt video where he urged fans to be the change in their communities to solve racial divide. In the 40-second clip, young children of different skin colors are seen playing together at a park and hugging each other while Moore plays basketball with friends Damien Horne of the Farm and Sam Hunt‘s guitarist, Tyrone Carreker.
As a young white girl hugs a young black boy and says, “Nice to meet you” after their game of tag, the camera cuts to Moore.
“It’s a beautiful thing how when kids are born, they don’t see color. They don’t feel hate,” Moore says. “It’s a really sad thing that we teach ’em how to do both.”
