Kentucky Senator Rand Paul Officially Announces His Run for the Presidency
Rand Paul, a Republican Senator from Kentucky, officially announced his run for the Oval office today. Many see Rand Paul as a non-political politician.
Senator Rand Paul may be the breath of fresh air Washington needs. Paul has a long history of calling out not only Democrats, but his own fellow Republicans as well when it comes to issues of common sense and caring for what's actually best for the people of this country. We all know that there are actually a handful of politicians who actually do care more about "we the people" vs. their pensions and what's best for them, Rand Paul may just be one of them.
I have a message, a message that is loud and clear and does not mince words, We have come to take our country back. The Washington machine that gobbles up our freedoms and invades every nook and cranny of our lives must be stopped. Too often, when Republicans have won, we have squandered our victory by becoming part of the Washington machine. That’s not who I am. If you love liberty, stand with me! If you want to defeat the Washington machine, stand with me! Rand Paul
To give you an idea of who Rand Paul is, if you have no idea on where his heart really is, take a look at this story and video I did back in 2013. In this video, Paul scolds members of Congress for voting on bills and key issues when they never even read them. The story was about a 700 page bill and he was one of the few who actually read it before signing.
Senator Paul gave a fiery speech in downtown Louisville, Kentucky today, April 7, and he will need to give it all he's got being ranked 4th among his GOP constituents with Florida Governor Jeb Bush leading the way followed by Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
As for me, I do not side with any one political party, and these days, I'm not sure who could. I vote on common sense and what is best for me and I have no loyalty to red, white or blue as a single color. My loyalty goes to whomever represents all three the best.
