K99 and The Pet Wellness Clinic Grant A Christmas Wish for Lucy

It is the season to celebrate and for new starts. The blue heeler mix, Lucy, will be getting a fresh start in 2016 thanks to the help of The Pet Wellness Clinic and K99 through our Christmas Wish Promotion. Lucy met Dr. Mike at their location yesterday to start her journey to recovery.

Owner, Stephanie, wrote in for K99 to grant her Christmas wish for Lucy.

The first time we met she was only a few months old and it was love at first sight. Matt, my husband, and I named her Lucy and adopted her from the Larimer County Humane Society that same day. Lucy is a Blue Heeler Mix, and she was found as a stray wandering the streets when she was just a puppy. We adored having Lucy in our home as she brought spirit and happiness and made us smile. However, that bliss was short lived because a few months after we adopted Lucy, tragedy struck. She was running at daycare, slipped, and hit her knee on a concrete wall which resulted in a fracture. She was taken to surgery and had wires and pins placed in her knee. Over time she recovered, but needed the hardware removed. She went in for another surgery to take out the pins – though this time, the healing was slower and she did not recover as fully as we hoped.

The Pet Wellness Clinic met with Lucy on Monday to talk about her diagnosis and how they can help moving forward. We will follow Lucy and her family through the rehab and let you know how she is doing!
