Johnstown Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault Incident at Hooters
A 63-year-old Johnstown man appeared in front of a judge via video court on Monday, August 17, in regards to his involvement in a sexual assault incident that occurred at the Loveland Hooters last year.
In September 2019, Todd Erdmann was dining at Hooters and allegedly arranged to give one of the waitresses concert tickets. During this interaction, Erdmann pulled the server towards him, and proceeded to sexually assault her. According to the arrest affidavit, the waitress stepped back and told him to stop, but instead he took it a step further, and did not comply.
Following this incident, the waitress called police and an investigation began. An investigator had the waitress call Erdmann, and during this conversation he reportedly apologized, claiming to be drunk at the time.
Erdmann is listed as CEO of Thunder Mountain Harley-Davidson, which neighbors the Hooters restaurant where the assault took place. In court, he announced that he will be forced to sell the motorcycle dealership, due to his conviction.
According the the Loveland Reporter-Herald Todd Erdmann pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor sexual assault charge, in exchange for prosecutors dropping the felony sexual assault charge. Subsequently, he will spend five years on sex-offender-specific probation, which could possibly include jail time, community service, and treatment. Erdmann informed the judge that he already started sex offender treatment two months ago.
Erdmann is currently out on bond, but is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Laurie Dean on October 19. He will undergo multiple evaluations prior to sentencing.
