If you're from Northern Colorado, chances are you've been to or at least heard of JB's Drive-In. Two words that I think of when I think of JB's: Shimp Basket. The carhop era restaurant closed in 2020, and life hasn't seemed the same since. But I have very exciting news!

Here's some info about JB's Drive-In that might jog your memory

  • The restaurant opened up way back in 1937.
  • JB's was always special because it was family owned and operated. Meaning they really cared about the food, the customers, and the community.
  • The restaurant closed in 2020, not because of COVID, but because of staffing and family health issues.
  • JB's closed after over 80 years in Greeley.
  • From fried shrimp baskets (my personal favorite to homemade root beer, there was something for everyone at JB's.
  • The service was always top notch, with the wait staff coming to your car to take orders and deliver food. Very 50's cool.

I remember how devastated I was when I heard the beloved Greeley staple was closing down. Yes, devastated is a dramatic word, but that's how it felt. In a world full of corporate fast food chains, JB's Drive In was different. It had heart.

But there's good news. While the building is closed, a food truck is offering some of JB's most popular menu items. But don't go driving around looking for a food truck with the JB's logo on the side because it's actually called Jess' Drive Inn and you can find it parked in the old location's parking lot.

Be sure to stop by, support a legendary family, and eat some incredible food.

I wouldn't go as far as to call it "going scorched Earth," but it definitely has that "mic drop" vibe.
