The Rocky Mountain Showdown continues to heat up as coaches Deion “Primetime” Sanders and Jay Norvell continue to trade jabs. The first shot was fired during CSU’s Coaches Show.

“When I talk to grownups, I take my hat and my glasses off,” said Norvell when commenting on Sanders’ press conference attire.

The Colorado Coach responded in his usual confident “fashion” by gifting his entire team with sunglasses just like his own.

“They done messed around and made it personal,” reiterated Prime after the training staff finished passing out identical glasses to the roster of over 80 players. “I just want to see how y'all look in them. You look good. You look fly.”

It’s safe to say that there is plenty of anticipation ahead of Saturday’s game in Boulder. One wonders if the team will take the field with their fashion statement or save it as salt on the win after a win. But the real question is how will Norvell and the Colorado State Rams react to such a bold response.

The Buffaloes have a devastating 67-22-2 record over the Rams since the beginning of their rivalry, and the two programs have had polar opposite starts to their seasons.

CSU fans can hope the trash talk is a spark after their early bye week.

We can at least hope a quarterback change from Clay Millen to redshirt freshman Bradyen Fowler-Nicolosi will result in a more exciting game as the anemic program looks to right the ship against an in-state rival.

Make sure to catch up on the full rivalry week drama.
