Crimes Suspected at Colorado Bar Known For Scantily Clad Servers

A sports bar in Denver, Colorado, may be in trouble and is at risk of losing multiple licenses after authorities investigated tips received regarding possible prostitution and drug activity taking place at the establishment.

Law Enforcement Tipped Off to Illegal Activity at Colorado Bar

The bar, known as El Mecca Sport Bar, is located at 2915 West Mississippi Avenue in Denver and was previously known as Club Dubai. As you can see on the official El Mecca Facebook page, the biggest draw to the bar is the fact that most of the employees appear to be scantily clad women.

The investigation began after the Denver Police Department received a tip back in 2024 that prostitution, drugs, and illegal liquor sales were all taking place at the bar.

Undercover agents in the department’s human trafficking unit reported that female employees of the bar were often seen offering off-site bottle service to customers, would then leave with the customer, and return at the end of the night to be paid by the bar manager.

One undercover officer was offered a sex act by one of the employees for cash, and upon revealing that he was a police officer, the employee revealed that she was also involved in off-site liquor sales.

Numerous other instances of women associated with or employed by the bar were reported by law enforcement, culminating in a sting operation that was carried out last August.

What’s Going to Happen to the Colorado Bar?

While it doesn’t appear that El Mecca is directly tied to any of the charges or arrests made in the sting operation, because it was revealed that these instances of prostitution and illegal liquor sales, as well as illicit drugs reportedly being sold, likely took place at the bar, the establishment is in danger of losing its liquor license and its dance cabaret license.

Perhaps ironically, it was recently announced that a bill has been introduced that, if passed, would legalize prostitution across Colorado.
