An unfortunate accident took place in Centennial, Colorado earlier this week that can serve as a harsh reminder to keep up with vehicle recalls.

What Happened in Centennial Colorado Earlier this Week?

On Wednesday, January 10, firefighters were called to a home in the Denver suburb of Centennial after the homeowner's electric vehicle caught fire in their garage.

Luckily there were no injuries but the smoke from the garage filled the home and the family's 2019 Jaguar I-PACE electric vehicle was burned to a crisp.

In another stroke of luck, the South Metro Fire Rescue was able to extinguish the flames caused by the vehicle in the garage before any fire damage was suffered by the living space of the home. However, as you can see, there was plenty of smoke damage that occurred.

Once South Metro Fire Rescue was able to put out the fire, they proceeded to extract the electric vehicle responsible for the blaze.

Crews then covered the still-smoking vehicle with a fire blanket and shipped it off to a junkyard, along with another hybrid vehicle that was parked next to the EV.

This particular make and model of electric vehicle was issued a recall in 2023 due to reports of batteries overheating while charging, which is what happened to the vehicle owned by this unfortunate Colorado family.
