If you want to eat somewhere haunted, look no further than the Buckhorn Exchange, the oldest restaurant in Denver. Apparently, it’s haunted by the ghosts of miners and cowboys from throughout the years.

If you want to go on a hike that’s haunted, Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve apparently has a ghost train and apparitions at night.

However, when it comes to haunted sites, many people’s biggest fear is sleeping in a haunted hotel.

Colorado has quite possibly the most famous example with the Stanley Hotel, but the Hand Hotel has its fair share of ghosts as well.

With that being said, quite possibly the most haunted place in the state could be a hotel that’s right in the middle of a ghost town.

11 miles away from Aspen lies the remains of a former Colorado boomtown called Ashcroft.

The town itself was a part of the gold and silver rush of the 19th century, and by the time the 1880s rolled around, it was estimated to have over 1,000 residents.

Afterwards, the town quickly began to spiral in the 1890s, forcing many businesses to close and people to leave.

It took until 1939 for the town to officially become abandoned, when the last resident of Jack Leahy, passed away.

Now, it’s been called the most haunted place in the state

At night, it’s been said that the spirits of miners who lost their lives in the area come out on the streets and hang out like the old times.

Even though the town as a whole is noted to be haunted, it’s the town’s hotel that is particularly full of spirits.

For the people who have stayed there, they say it is extremely haunted with the lost souls of miners who died tragically.

Honestly, you couldn’t pay me to stay there.

The thing about the Ashcroft Ghost Town is that it has been incredibly well preserved and is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

After years of neglect, many of the buildings have been restored to their former glory, making it an amazing place to visit.

While you’re not allowed to bring your dog, it's completely free to visit, making it an awesome place for fans of history and the paranormal to go.
