Is Colorado Football Really That Good? EA Sports Thinks So
It may not feel like it, but the college football season is right around the corner.
For example, Colorado State football is going to be starting up their season on the road against the Texas Longhorns on August 31st.
However, another signal is that the new college football video game, EA Sports College Football 25, is coming out on July 19th.
On the game’s cover lies Travis Hunter, the star wide receiver and cornerback for the Colorado Buffaloes, who still are one of the most hyped up football teams in the country.
However, does EA Sports think they will be good this year? Their answer is a resounding yes.
EA Sports Ranks Colorado as the 16th Best College Football Team
That’s right, they’ve got the Buffaloes all the way up in the top 20 best teams in the country.
EA Sports gave them an offensive rating of 89 this year, which is actually the 8th highest in the entire game.
On the defensive side of the ball, they have a rating of 84, which is 20th in the game.
With everything put together, the Colorado Buffaloes have an overall rating of 87, which is the 16th best in the game.
As of right now, Colorado State football’s rating is unknown.
How Did Colorado Football Improve From Last Year?
Some of you may be wondering; Isn’t this the same team that went 4-8 last year after winning their first three games of the season?
Well, they definitely improved in a number of different ways over the offseason, albeit, a bit untraditionally.
In terms of high school recruiting, Colorado is in an interesting spot. They signed Jordan Seaton, the best lineman prospects in the country.
However, only five prospects have enrolled in total, with six others signing a letter of intent. Their ranking for high school recruiting is all the way down at 81st.
In the transfer portal, they were able to snag eight different 4-star recruits, while only losing two of such players.
That gave them a transfer portal ranking of 8th in the country, and likely where EA Sports sees the vast improvement from last year.
However, losing cornerback Cormani McClain to the University of Florida is certainly a pretty major blow for the team.
Outside of the game, Colorado will start off their season against North Dakota State on August 29th. They will face off against Colorado State in the Rocky Mountain Showdown on September 14th.
What do you think? Will Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes prove to be one of the best teams in the country this season, or will it be more of the same?
