With the first day of winter right around the corner, we're taking a trip down memory lane to remember some of the coldest playoff games to ever take place a Mile High.
Denver Broncos 2013 AFC Divisional Playoff
Broncos fans in attendance will never forget one of the coldest games ever played at Mile High Stadium. It took place on January 12th, 2013 vs the Baltimore Ravens. The temperature at kickoff was 13°F (-10.6°C). Fans will remember Peyton Manning's attempt at a late comeback, but the Broncos would fall 38-35 in double overtime. It was the coldest post-game walk to the parking lot in Broncos history.
The Broncos 1978 AFC Championship Game
January 1, 1978, stands out as an important date to any Broncos fan. It was the day Denver's NFL team would secure their first-ever Super Bowl appearance. Denver's 1992 AFC Divisional Playoff
The game time temp at Mile High Stadium was 30 degrees on January 4th as the Broncos faced the Houston Oilers in the 1992 AFC Division Round of the playoffs. John Elway led the Broncos down the field ("the Drive II") as the temps fell to just 23 degrees by the end of the game. The fourth quarter featured a game-winning field goal from David Treadwell and sent the Broncos to the AFC Championship.
