4 Big Events In Colorado All About Giant Pumpkins
Fall in Colorado means leaf-peaking, sweaters, Broncos football, and pumpkins. Pumpkin-spice lattes, for sure, but also weigh-off to determine who has grown the biggest pumpkin.
Growing a pumpkin to be be worthy of showing off at an event takes a lot of work; then there's the transporting of said pumpkin to the venue. For the fall of 2024, there are four locations looking for pumpkin farmers' "biggest."
For four Saturdays, you could venture out to see what these folks are bringing to the scales.
It does seem like something you'd only find in America: Gloating over a big pumpkin that we grew. These events are about pride and fun, both American, so we'll roll with it.

These events, sanctioned by the Rocky Mountain Giant Vegetable Growers, aren't just about weighing pumpkins, either; they're about celebrating fall in Colorado. You're bound to find ciders, live music, maybe a little train for the kids to ride.

- September 28 - Littleton.
- Jared's Nursery.
- 19th Annual Pumpkin Festival and Weigh-Off
- 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Bounce Castles, Pumpkin Drop, Games, Maze, Vendors.
- October 5 - Aurora.
- Nick's Garden Center.
- Part of the annual Fall Festival (running though Halloween.)
- Rides, music, maze, food, vendors.
- October 12 - Fort Collins.
- Fort Collins Nursery
- 16th Annual Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off and Fall Jamboree.
- 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Food trucks, kids activities, hayrides, pumpkin bowling, etc.
- October 19 - Peyton (Northeast of Colorado Springs.)
- Smith Farms.
- 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Food trucks, hayrides, "corn pool," live music, more.
