Check Your Freezer For These Tater Tot Brand Codes
I've never met a tater tot I didn't like, and no tater tot has ever anything to change my opinion of them. That is, until now - potentially.
Almost 650,000 POUNDS of tater tots are being recalled as McCain Foods in Idaho announced that a large batch of their tots were potentially contaminated by "foreign materials" - in particular small, plastic fragments.
If you're curious, I took the liberty of researching for you other things that weigh 650,000 pounds, and the list is pretty staggering.

650,000 pounds of tater tots are equivalent in weight to:
A fully fueled Boeing 747.
Or a large electrical transformers, like the equivalent size of a 3,200 square foot house.
In other words - that's a LOT of tater tots being recalled! There is some silver lining, however. While the two brands being recalled - Ore-Ida and Sonic Tot - are those you can usually find in our local grocery store freezer cases, it appears that the recall is predominantly for tater tots sold commercially to food service clients, so odds are there are not any in your freezer.
