Why Does ‘Severance’ Mention 2 Northern Colorado Towns?
It would be one thing if one Northern Colorado town seemed to get a nod on a TV show, but to have two Northern Colorado towns get mentioned in the same episode is just strange. Then, "Severance" is strange, on its own. Is there a reason or is it really just coincidence?
The Apple TV+ series "Severance" debuted in 2022; it's a great and weird show about people who give up their "regular" identities when they go into work. Their "work" personas and "home" personas have no idea what the other does with their time. It stars Adam Scott, who was on "Parks & Recreation" for a long time; in "Severance," he does give off the same "befuddled" vibe as his Ben Wyatt character.
If you hadn't seen the show, your easy answer would be "It must take place in Colorado;" but the sci-fi drama takes place in a fictitious Pennsylvania town, Kier. You don't even really see the town, but that's of no matter; it's not anywhere near the Centennial State. The mystery, like "What exactly is the Cold Harbor file?" may go unanswered.
Why Does 'Severance' Mention Loveland and Wellington?
In season two, episode 7 of "Severance" entitled "Chikhai Bardo," the viewer is taken to the Lumon testing floor. A main character is walked down a hallway of different rooms; towards the end of the hallway, they pass one room named "Loveland" shortly before entering a room named "Wellington." It freaked me out: "Are they watching ME?"

I Googled for an answer but did not find a reason; I even thought maybe the writer of the episode has Colorado connections, but according to Wikipedia, he does not. It could be that his siblings live in Loveland and Wellington and he found a way to involve them; that seems like a longshot, though.
