How Much Money Do You Need To Make For The Top 10% In Colorado?
The cost of eggs, the gas prices, utilities, real estate or rent... as the general cost of living has skyrocketed over the last decade alone, never mind generation to generation, we all hope our wage increases can keep up with inflation. How has yours stacked up?
Do you find yourself shaking your head in disbelief when you're at the grocery store and put something in your cart realizing that you're about to pay $9.00 for something you vividly remember getting for like $3.00 what seems like not too long ago? I sure do.
Either that makes me old or behind the 8-ball when it comes to how my salary has increased over my life when compared to inflation and the basic cost of living.
Remember when anything over $300 a month was considered a "high" car payment? Ah, those were the days!
So how do you stack up in the state of Colorado for 2025?
A GoBankingRates study shows that Colorado's median annual salary is $87,598. To achieve the Top 10% of earners nationally in the United States, your salary needs to be $148,812. If you make anywhere near that median salary, you're a little more than halfway there.
Until you realize that to be in the Top 10% of salaries in the state of Colorado, you need to make $289,682. So while your $87k a year in other states may go a long way, here at home? Not so much.
