If you live in the Northern Colorado area, you may get a little nerve-racked, as helicopters will be taking to the skies.

This may be useful information if your pets are afraid of loud noises, or for those that suffer from PTSD. Though there is no "schedule" or provided flight plans, the copters will be out on Mach 21, and March 22, 2024.

When I think of low-flying helicopters, my mind flashes to the movie, "Die Hard" when the feds are come in with their gunship helicopters, intending to eliminate the bad guys. It was a great "John McClane" scene, but this will be nothing at all like that.

According to the Reporter-Herald, The Platte River Power Authority will be contracting out the helicopters, so they can get photos/video of their transmission lines.

Platter River Power Authority's Rawhide Energy Station began operating in Wellington, Colorado in 1984. The coal-burning facility provides nearly half of Platter River Power Authority's annual energy.

It is scheduled to be taken off-line in 2029.
