Before the season started, this weekend's game with the Denver Broncos hosting the visiting New York Giants seemed a lot like sort of a "gimme" win on the schedule, with much ado about nothing around the game.

Fast forward to the Friday before the game, and there's a LOT happening this weekend at Empower Field at Mile High.

For starters, the Giants aren't quite as bad as everyone expected them to be, beyond rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, that is. Russell Wilson makes his return to Mile High, yes, but he'll be on the bench.

The rookie QB has ignited some excitement in New Jersey, as the Giants defeated the defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles last weekend, a week after Denver did the same thing. Does that make the Broncos' win less impressive? Maybe. We'll see.

Beyond the ramifications of the power rankings and AFC West Standings coming out of whatever happens this weekend, it's also homecoming weekend for the Denver Broncos.

More than 40 of the players from Denver's Super Bowl 50 Championship team are expected to attend to celebrate the 10th anniversary of that Lombardi Trophy, but more importantly, to celebrate one of their beloved teammates from that year.

Demaryrius Thomas will be inducted this Sunday into the Broncos Ring of Fame, with a special ceremony at halftime of the Denver-New York game.

Thomas passed away a few years ago unexpectedly at the age of 33. In the years since, so many stories of DT the man - not just the player - have surfaced about all the good he did for his teammates and the community, so honoring him this weekend will be extra special.
