If You Can Not Get a Raise, You Might Ask For These

With the new year steadily approaching, annual performance reviews are on the horizon. Maybe you will get a raise, but what if you don't? Here are some things to ask for instead.

As Yahoo Finance showed us, raises are great, but what what if the company you work for isn't in a position to give you a raise, such as a small business?

Here are a few things that you can ask for in place of a raise:

Tuition reimbursement - Go back to school and increase your value

Flexible work schedule - Quit killing yourself at work and make more time for, well, you.

A new title - Do you wear several different hats at your job?

Upgraded tools and gadgets - From your computer to phone. Ask for a new one.

Vacation time - Ask for more.

Of course use some common sense when asking for these things. Time it well, do your research on what the company is capable of doing, have facts and results to back up your requests.
