I-25 and Prospect Road will be closed in both directions in Fort Collins, from 9 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday, due to the I-25 North Project: Johnstown to Fort Collins.

In order for crews to remove the temporary falsework of the Prospect Road bridge over I-25, both the overpass and interstate will need to be shut down, CDOT says. Expect that detours will add extra travel time, with westbound Prospect traffic detouring north to Mulberry Street and eastbound detouring south to Harmony Road.

I-25 traffic will use on and off ramps at the Prospect Road exit (268) to detour.

Note that the east frontage road between Prospect Road and Mulberry Street in Fort Collins closed permanently in July, so that cannot be used as a detour route. A detour map is available here.

Additionally, there will be numerous single-lane closures on I-25 in Northern Colorado the following week. You can see all traffic impacts from CDOT here.

The I-25 North Project: Johnstown to Fort Collins is scheduled to be completed in 2024. Currently, replacing aging bridges and adding Express Lanes each direction on I-25 is underway. When complete, the $450 million project will allow for bus transit on I-25, 'add carpool and transit facilities' and more.
