Your Thanksgiving travel may be across the country or just across town.

Travel has always been a part of the holidays for me. It used to be just to grandma's house, but now that I'm married it includes a trip to see the in-laws. Although that means I get two rounds of turkey and all the trimming, it also means I'll be traveling more than 50 miles.

According to AAA, this is pretty common.

In fact, last year AAA estimated that more than 54 million people would be traveling at least 50 miles to get some turkey and a hug from family. That number was the highest they had seen since 2005. They included all forms of travel in their estimation; planes, trains, automobiles, and even a ship or two.

Since the Thanksgiving holiday is typically celebrated that Wednesday through Sunday, there is plenty of time to get where you want to go. What are your plans this year? Are you jumping on a plane or piling into the car?

Maybe you're just making the journey from the couch to the kitchen...
