Horsetooth Reservoir 9/4/12
loading...

Have you been to Horsetooth Reservoir lately?  The water level is the lowest I have seen it since they worked on the dam in 20o4.  According to the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, Horsetooth Reservoir is at 36 percent of capacity and continuing to drop.

We just had the 4th driest August on record.  The High Park Fire made water from the Poudre river undrinkable for a while, so even more water was taken from Horsetooth Reservoir to compensate.

The water level is about 20 feet lower than normal at this time of year.

I took some photos yesterday. The think that amazed me is that there were still boats on  the water.
