Local nonprofit Realities For Children has been waiting to celebrate its 25th anniversary since April.

The important youth services group that provided nearly $1 million worth of core services last year is now hosting its annual gala virtually at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24.

Anyone can tune into the show that will award local youth in different Realities programs, local businesses, volunteers and more. Attendees can register online for email updates and reminders.

Donations will be accepted and an anonymous donor will match all donations up to $25,000. Hundreds of items and experiences are available in an online silent auction fundraiser.

Fort Collins Police Chief Jeff Swoboda is the event MC. There will be music performances from three-time Grammy nominated artist Joseph Wooten (Wooten Brothers, Hands of Soul and the keyboardist and vocalist with the Steve Miller Band).

Realities For Children President Craig Secher said he hopeful the event will be seen by more than 800 people, the typical number of in-person gala attendees.

Last year, the nonprofit organization provided items for more than 5,700 children in need; youth activities for more than 4,000 attendees; and child emergency services for more than 3,400.
