Today is a huge day in the history of music. If this day wouldn't have happened 64 years ago, country music would have never sounded as good as it does. It was on this date in 1952 in Poteet, Texas that the king of country music George Strait was born. The world got a lot cooler 64 years ago.

There is no artist who has done more for the popularity and classiness of country music than George has. I have never heard a song of his that I did not like and have traveled all over this country, on my own dime, to see this man perform. My wife and I have been married 30 years and do not have a whole lot in common but one thing we both have always agreed on and shared together, is our love of George and his music.

Happy birthday George! Thank you for the soundtrack of our lives. Thank you for being the classy family man you are and the example you live. Thank you for making the hard times easier and the good times even happier. You have given us more than you could ever imagine. We love you George.

Here are few of my favorites from George including the one the started it all "Unwound" to one of my favorites from his latest album called "Wish You Well". Happy Strait Day!
