Great Colorado Pie Fight Official Rules

  1. The Great Colorado Pie Fight will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from Noon-5pm MST at the Northside Aztlan Community Center, 112 East Willow Street in Fort Collins, Colorado.
  2. All event attendees must pay $5 for a taste ticket to sample pizza and vote.
  3. All attendees who purchase a $5 taste ticket will receive 1 (one) ballot to vote. Additional taste tickets may be purchased at the event so attendees can vote more than once.
  4. Any entrant found in violation of the rules listed below will be immediately disqualified from the judging and will not be eligible to win. No “warnings” will be issued. Any restaurant disqualified may continue to sample their products but will not be eligible to win.
  5. The decision of the judges is final.
  6. This competition is based on the overall flavor of pizza submissions. Other related products will be eligible for entry (calzones, subs, pastas, etc.)
  7. Participating restaurants are permitted a total of four (4) staff members to work the event within their designated sampling booth space at a time. Restaurant staff wearing credentials will be permitted to leave and re-enter the event in order to replenish supplies.
  8. Other restaurant staffs are welcome to attend the event but they must pay the $5 entry fee and are not permitted within the designated sampling booth space.
  9. Restaurants are permitted to distribute promotional items (buttons, key chains, menus, etc.) from within their designated sampling area only. No items are to be distributed for anywhere at the Northside Aztlan Community Center (including the parking lot) outside their designated sampling area.
  10. Restaurants may offer an enter-to-win prize and/or coupons for money off a future purchase within their designated sampling area. This enter-to-win must be open and available to all attendees and not just people who vote for a specific restaurant.
  11. Restaurants are not permitted to distribute gift certificates and/or other type gifts in exchange for votes.
  12. Competing restaurants many not alter or change the location of their assigned table in the competition.
  13. Upon load-in on the event date, each restaurant will be asked to sign a release form indicating that they have read and understand all of the rules. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the competition. Disqualified restaurants may sill participate in the event and sample their products, but will not be eligible to win.
  14. For the Great Colorado Pie Fight “Judges Choice” blind taste test:
    1. The judging will be done at the Northside Aztlan Center during the event within a time window defined by Townsquare Media, Inc. This judging period is at the sole discretion of Townsquare Media, Inc.
    2. A Townsquare Media staff member will collect your pizza samples at approximately TIME.
    3. Samples will be served to the judges following collection and will not be reheated prior to judging.
    4. Each restaurant will be assigned a number (in no particular order) on the event ledger. This ledger and the assigned restaurant numbers will not be disclosed to the public or competing restaurants. No one, including our event judges, will have access to this ledger, except for one (1) Townsquare Media staff member. Each sample will have a concurrent number of the bottom of the plate.
    5. At the conclusion of the blind taste test, the judges will indicate which numbered plate they are selecting.
      This will be compared to the event ledger. The restaurant with the majority vote will be named winner.
    6. In the event of a tie, Townsquare Media staff will participate in a blind taste test to name a winner. The Townsquare Media staff member with access to the event ledger (referenced above) will not participate in the blind taste test judging in the event of a tie.
    7. The Judge’s Choice will be announced at approximately 4:30pm.
  15. For the Great Colorado Pie Fight “People’s Choice” contest:
    1. All ages will be permitted to attend the event but only those with a $5 taste ticket may vote.
    2. Townsquare Media, Inc. is not responsible for any technical and/or user errors that may occur during the voting process.
    3. Townsquare Media, Inc. will accepted ballots until 4:00pm.
    4. The winner of the People’s Choice will be announced at the event at 4:30pm
  16. It is possible for one restaurant to win both awards. The decision of Townsquare Media, Inc. management is final.
  17. The Great Colorado Pie Fight 2013 People’s Choice and Judges Choice will each receive $5,000 in radio advertising and $1,000 in digital promotion schedule on Townsquare Media, Inc. properties:  K99 (KUAD), Tri102.5 (KTRR), 94.3 Loudwire (KMAX) and 99.9 The Point (KKPL). Restrictions, an expiration date and blackout dates apply.
  18. Prizes are non-transferrable. No cash equivalent will be offered in substitution of prizes. No prizes may be substituted or exchanged for other prizes. Advertising schedule prize may not be applied to a prior balance or monies owed to Townsquare Media, Inc.
  19. Employees of Townsquare Media, Inc., contest sponsors, their associated advertising agencies and their immediate families, as well as employees of other radio and television stations and their immediate families are not eligible to win.
  20. Winners forever release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Townsquare Media, Inc. their officers, employees, directors, and sponsors from any claim liability, income tax, loss or damage caused by or arising out of participation in this contest and/or use of his/her prize.
  21. Winners must provide Townsquare Media, Inc. with their social security number/employer identification number before prize is awarded. Prize winners will be responsible for any and all applicable taxes and fees including income tax. Townsquare Media, Inc. will provide winners of a prize valued at or more than $600 with a 1099 form when required.
  22. Void where prohibited by law. Prizes may have been furnished for promotional or advertising consideration.
  23. Townsquare Media, Inc. and its authorized representatives reserve the right to postpone, reschedule, delay and/or modify the contest dates and/or method of entry at any time. Townsquare Media, Inc. may be excused from its obligation to execute the contest if its performance is delayed or prevented due to cause beyond its control including but not limited to acts of God, weather, public enemies, war, civil disorder, fire, flood, explosion, labor disputes or strikes, any acts by any governmental authority, or for any reason Townsquare Media, Inc. determines.
  24. Townsquare Media, Inc. reserves the right to refuse awarding any prize to a person who is determined to have violated a rule as outlined above.
  25. Contestants and winners allow Townsquare Media, Inc. to use their name, voice and/or likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation.
  26. A copy of the official rules may be obtained the night of the event, by stopping by the Townsquare Media, Inc. offices during regular business hours, by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Townsquare Media, Inc. 600 Main Street Windsor CO 80550.
  27. Odds of winning are based on the number of competing restaurants and the number of total votes received.
  28. Townsquare Media, Inc. reserves the right to change or alter the official rules, method of entry and/or prize(s) without prior notification.
  29. Townsquare Media, Inc. reserves the sole right to not allow any restaurant to participate for any reason. Any restaurant that has previously won this competition in either category at least three years in a row is not eligible to participate.
  30. The decision of the judges is final.
