Grand County Sheriff Investigating Horse Being Dragged by Truck
The Grand County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible animal cruelty case involving a horse being dragged by a pickup truck according to KDVR. The incident was captured on video of the horse being dragged. A woman who appears to be recording the scene says "This a**hole refuses to leave the ranch, so John's pulling him across" while pulling the horse forward with reins attached to the hitch of a pickup truck.
A press conference conducted by the Grand County Sheriff's Office confirms that they have found the horse and that a veterinarian has conducted an assessment on the animal. Luckily, there is no trauma, however, the horse is "tender" and pain medication has been administered.
The horse is being transferred to the Colorado Humane Society fort further evaluation. The owners are cooperating with the investigation.
