Goose Meat From Denver Parks Arrives at Metro Caring Food Banks
The Denver Channel is reporting that Denver Parks and Recreation say they've finished it's controversial project to control the goose population. City officials report that they've killed 1,662 geese and shipped the meat to the Metro Caring Food Banks.
For years the city has used the practice to control the goose population, but The Denverite is reporting that this is the first year they've used the meat to feed the less fortunate.
About 100 people from the group Canada Geese Protection Denver showed up to protest the killing of the geese at Wash Park last weekend.
