Gardens on Spring Creek Debuts COVID Friendly Halloween Event
The Halloween Enchanted Gardens extravaganza at the Gardens on Spring Creek has traditionally been a staple among children looking for a fun, creative way to celebrate Halloween.
In light of the pandemic, the botanic garden has created a new, COVID-19-friendly event that is set to take place later this month - just in time for the spooky season.
Gardens on Spring Creek has announced the plans for their new spook-tacular event called Pumpkins on Parade. According to the Coloradoan, the event aims to transform the city-run botanical gardens later this month into hundreds of pumpkins and gourds that will be arranged across The Gardens on Spring Creek in an incredible display.
The event will also feature a pumpkin carving contest, a 700-pound pumpkin named Fancy, and an on-site food truck. And for the adults, there will even be beer and wine available for purchase.
To children with food allergies, Halloween might not be the most exciting holiday. A primary goal of Gardens on Spring Creek's Halloween events, and the big mission behind The Halloween Enchanted Gardens extravaganza, was to offer all children an enjoyable, candy-free way to celebrate Halloween. Pumpkins on Parade was created to replace the Halloween Enchanted Gardens, but is structured to offer children and their families alike an equally exciting, fun and safe event.
In a news release, Gardens on Spring Creek Education Coordinator Ashley Krueger said, "Creating a safe space for children to explore is a critical part of what we do at The Gardens, and this event is an example of our commitment to our community."
