When we were just getting started here at K99 in the late 80's and early 90's there was some great country music. There is still great country music but I will always have a soft spot in my heart for those songs and artists of that time, which is why I love doing the Friday Flashback. I get to dig into the library of songs that made country...country.

I still play Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Byrd and Hal Ketchum on my stereo at a volume of 10 loudly and proudly. I have been on a bit of a Joe Diffie kick lately. I started listening to his Greatest Hits CD and some of his other old albums and rekindled my appreciation for what a great voice this man has. I picked one of my favorites of his to highlight today. Listen to the lyrics of "Ships That Don't Come In" from 1992 and try to not be moved. Thanks for the great tunes Joe. Can't wait until next weeks flashback. Enjoy!
