Fort Collins Utilities will be sponsoring and hosting the sale of backyard compost bins and accessories and celebrating the 18th Annual Xeriscape Garden Party.

Compost helps reduce waste that fills landfill, helps existing soil, and can help you save money on trash bills. Composting also can "reduce greenhouse gas emissions, grow healthy plants and help landscapes use less water," according to a City of Fort Collins press release.

You do have to place an order, which you can do here. The deadline to place your order is May 31.

Orders will arrive and must be picked up starting at 10:30 a.m. and no later than 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at the City Hall north parking lot off of Maple Street.

The Xeriscape Garden Party will be next door in the south parking lot starting at 11 a.m.

There will be host experts with presentations on the best ways to compost.according to a City of Fort Collins press release, residents will learn where to place bins, what to add and how to use the finished compost.
