Northern Colorado School District Showcases Local Agriculture

Colorado residents know how important agriculture is for our state. One school district in Northern Colorado, with schools in Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, and more, is showcasing that with themed lunches for the entire month of October.

Colorado Proud School Meal Month

October for the Thompson School District will be different. Students are offered an all-Colorado lunch menu for the entire month, the Coloradoan reports. The Northern Colorado district is calling it ‘Colorado Proud School Meal Month’.

Lunches Made With 100% Colorado Ingredients

Every aspect of these school lunches is exclusively grown, created, or produced in the state of Colorado. The food is from Greeley, Denver, Hotchkiss, and all other parts of the state of Colorado.

A Unique Program Highlighting Colorado Agriculture

This is such a phenomenal and unique program. Personally, I have not heard of one quite like it before. I bet the food is delicious, and it is a great way to teach kids the importance of Colorado’s agricultural significance. It sure beats the rectangular pizza and questionable lasagna that I had when I was in school back in the day.

Agricultural Science Pathway for Future Generations

The school district also offered an Agricultural Science Pathway program. They offer resources and education for animal science, agriculture, and more to continue the path of agriculture for generations to come.
