Road rage led to nine felonies and one misdemeanor in Northern Colorado. A Wyoming man named Jimmy Whitver was taken into custody after his road rage incident that led to his vehicle hitting a police vehicle in Fort Collins.

Here Is What Happened in Fort Collins

According to a press release by the city of Fort Collins, on November 29 Fort Collins police were called and dispatched to a road rage incident. The caller had their vehicle intentionally rammed by the driver.

The driver continued to follow the caller. The driver then ignored law enforcement, and a chase began. During the chase, the driver intentionally hit a Larimer County Sheriff's Office vehicle.

The chase continued until the truck driver crashed into a field.

Charges Filed Against Driver in Fort Collins

The man has been identified as Jimmy Whitver, a 52-year-old Wyoming resident. He was driving a Ford F-150 truck. Here are the charges he is facing.

  • Six counts of attempted second-degree assault (felony).
  • One count of driving under the influence (felony).
  • One count of vehicular eluding (felony).
  • One count of second-degree criminal trespass on agricultural land (felony).
  • And one count of criminal mischief (misdemeanor).
