A new, innovative, and great program has officially debuted in Northern Colorado. With food prices continuing to rise, many Colorado families are looking for cheaper options. A new community service project has begun in Fort Collins.

'Free For All' Program Debuts in Fort Collins

9News did a great piece on a Colorado State University student named Aya Elhemri. Elhemri is a student and a 4-H member. She has collaborated with Vindeket Foods, which is a non-profit.

Vindeket Foods donates extra food from stores and farms to people in need. Their goal is to reduce food waste. They have a market on Delozier Drive in Fort Collins. Here is how it works.

We rescue food from grocery stores, local farms, and even folks with home gardens or fruit trees! If not for Vindeket, all this food would be headed for the landfill.

Free Food Pop-Up Event in Fort Collins

Elhemri is now hosting free pop-up food stands in Fort Collins. In her interview with 9News, she says that no paperwork is required.

'Food For All' provides free food for residents and has an emphasis on healthy options.

The plan for 'Food for All' is to open the stand once a month. Elhemri's goal is to make the program convenient and approachable. More often than not, when Colorado residents struggle, they do not reach out for any assistance.

Elhemri's 'Food for All' program wants to take the shame out of asking for help.

We are very excited to see the program grow and evolve and continue to help Northern Colorado residents.
