
Farmers’ Almanac Forecasts a Doozy of a Winter for Colorado
It's kind of funny to think that so many people cannot wait for summer to arrive, only to complain about how hot it is, and then say they cannot wait for cold days to be here in Colorado. I will admit, I can be one of these people.

In the hottest days of summer, I yearn for the cooler temperatures of winter, and then in the winter, I cannot wait for summer to be here. Odd, right? To me, the best seasons in Northern Colorado are when we have mild temperatures, the windows can be open, and you could possibly get a bit of a sunburn by sitting outside for a few hours.
Fall in Colorado: Short but Sweet
Soon enough, fall will be here, but the one thing about fall is that it never lasts long enough. Just as fall, my favorite season, starts to peak, winter seems to slam its way into our lives like a runaway dump truck full of snow. Winter is coming, and faster than you would expect.

How bad of a winter could we be in for in Colorado this year? The Farmers' Almanac recently put out its forecast for fall, and just like the season, they have already made the segue into winter.

The Farmers' Almanac summed up what this upcoming winter will look like in only three words. Chill, snow, repeat.
A Harsh Winter Across the Northern Plains and Rockies
According to the 2025-26 Winter Outlook forecast from Farmers' Almanac, Colorado is going to see a very cold and snowy winter, as is Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, and Minnesota.
Time to Prepare for the Cold
If your idea of a bad time is shoveling snow off your driveway, you might want to take this forecast for the upcoming winter as motivation to finally get that snowblower you have been wanting for years. You might need it if this forecast from the Farmers' Almanac holds true.
