Ever Hear the Beach Boys or John Denver Sing ‘Okie From Muskogee”? [VIDEO]

There are certain lyrics that everyone, no matter what kind of music you listen to, knows. Merle Haggard's classic "Okie From Muskogee" is one of those songs. Who hasn't sung "...a place where even squares can have a ball" at the top of their lungs?

It was on this date in 1969 that The Hag was sitting at number one with that great, timeless country anthem. To commemorate the occasion I looked for some odd cover versions of "Okie" and I scored. I certainly had never heard John Denver or The Beach Boys sing it. Check out a few cover versions and of course the original Merle himself.
