As someone who will always stop by a garage sale if something catches my eye, I will tell you, there are treasures to be had in someone else's junk. There might be things you never knew you wanted, too.

Putting on a garage sale is a lot of work. First, you have to gather the items in the garage, then you have to price them out. Not too attractive a price, or you will lose money. Not too steep, because you might lose the sale. Let's not forget putting signage up around your neighborhood, so people know where to get a great deal.

Evans Residents Now Need a Permit for Garage Sales

Now, one Northern Colorado town is going to require you to take the process of a garage sale a step further with a permit.

The City of Evans has updated its regulations for garage sales within the city limits, and now, those who have a garage sale will have to obtain a permit through the city.

Residents of Evans will now be required to obtain a free garage sale permit through the City Clerk's office before the sale. Additionally, there are some rules for your future garage sale.

Evans Garage Sale Permit Limitations

  • Garage sales are limited to two days
  • No more than two garage sales per year by the same person or at the same property.
