My wife and I have not had a coffee table for some time now and I am getting sick of not having one. So the search began on Craigslist... Let's just say that most of the ones that I saw posted saw better days in 1974. Not our style at all. So the next thing we did was look at some furniture stores. Nope, not spending $250 for a square piece of plywood and four legs, not happening. I decided to make my own. After looking at a few sites, I came to the conclusion that the table plans from LoveGrowsWild.com in addition to some of my own touches would be the best way to go.

Off to the hardware store! Two different stores and about $60 worth of lumber later, we have the wood!

Now that we've got the wood, let's set up the miter saw that my neighbor graciously let me borrow!

I have to admit, I got a little side tracked when I was making the cuts and jamming out to Eric Church, so there are no photos of the build process on this table. I did however have two hairy managers watching my every move making sure the corners were at a perfect 90 degrees!

Laying the tabletop onto the base to check fitment... and yes I have an extra large bean bag in my garage and it's glorious!

Here is what the final construction of the table looks like. The top is not attached as I am going to be sanding the entire table tonight in preparation for stain and sealant.

I will be working on it again tonight in hopes of having the entire table done by the weekend and I will have another update for you tomorrow!
