Dillon, Colorado Planning on Full Slate of Concerts in 2021

To say that 2020 was an awful year for live music is certainly an understatement, to say the least. However, it would appear that as time has passed and more people are getting vaccinated that concerts are finally returning and there is a glimmer of hope that 2021 will be much more of a concert season than last year.

Because of this, the small mountain town of Dillon, Colorado, has just announced that they are planning on having a 'full slate' of concerts will be coming to the ski town this summer.

Nestled between more popular ski towns in Summit County such as Frisco, Silverthorne, and Breckenridge, the town of Dillon is perhaps best known for its namesake lake, but many Coloradans consider it a hot spot for fun summer nights.

Luckily, the town will be receiving a $207,000 American Rescue Act reimbursement from the state of Colorado this year, and increased their events funding budget by $700,000, making for a potentially robust concert season.

Dillon Mayor Caroylyn Skowyra had this to say about the topic:

I think this is going to be a killer concert season, and I’m happy to put as much money as we need to have a really great blowout year and get everyone back in town. I think people will come and spend a lot of money going all out.

Although none of the acts have been announced, the town is planning on spending money on booking artists as well as making money on the concerts. However, while the plan emphasizes large gatherings of people enjoying live music, organizers have also emphasized that safety precautions will nonetheless be put into place.
