This is not a drill. Colorado State University is finally renovating the Clark Building.

I don't know about you, but as an alum of CSU's College of Liberal Arts, my peers and I watched as the Clark Building painstakingly aged while a new health center and a new football stadium came to campus.

Those were both important developments, but we couldn't help but wonder: when will our time come?

Well, friends — it finally has.

CSU announced the news in a Friday (May 6) Facebook post, revealing that the State of Colorado has given the university $38 million to "transform Clark into a leading teaching, learning and research space."

According to a press release, the sum is part of a three-part project that will tackle the "aging infrastructure" of Clark C while expanding both Clark C and Clark A.

"We cannot wait to experience the rewards that will come with upgrading our busiest academic building," said CSU President Joyce McConnell in the release. "I know generations of Rams who attended classes in Clark that will smile when they learn of this wonderful news."

Indeed, many are excited that the building, erected in 1968, is finally getting an update.

CSU hopes to break ground on the new and improved Clark Building by late 2023 or in the summer of 2024.

Until then, we can look to the university's past improvements for inspiration. Check out 10 cool things from the CSU Spur Campus in the gallery below.
