Have you ever wanted something you just couldn't have? For me, it's a CVMA back patch and knowing I will never get one sucks. You get to a point where you get too old and then it's all too late.

The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, to me, is the club that means the most to me yet I can't join.  You all know that two loves of my life are my Harley Davidson and supporting our Military; both past and present.  As life played out, I came of age when Vietnam had come to a close, the draft had ended and there was no huge push to join; something I still regret to this day.

I digress!  My friends/hero's who do belong to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association will be escorting the The Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall to Fort Collins on Wednesday, May 22nd..

If you are a combat vet and ride a motorcycle, your services are once again being called upon.  If you're not a member of the CVMA it's not to late to sign up and you can access their membership page by clicking on this link.

Travelling Vietnam Memorial Wall will be on display at the Veterans Plaza in Fort Collins (2626 W. Horsetooth Rd) from May 22nd through the 27th.  The wall be ready for viewing on Thursday the 23rd and can be visited 24/7 through the 27th.

Gary Ricker, one of the event organizers also adds,

On Friday May 24, we will be hosting a meet and greet at Jay's Bistro in Fort Collins then on Saturday May 25th there will be a ceremony with LTG John Myers as the main speaker. We are attempting to have several of veterans who were POWs in Vietnam as speakers as well. This event starts at 11:45 AM and will last till 1:00 PM After the ceremony, approximately at 2:00 PM there will be a "Ride of the Wall" which will allow motorcycle riders the opportunity to ride at a slow pace in close proximity to the length of the Wall. There will also be a blessing of the bikes at this venue. Music, food vendors, military booths will also be part of the day.
