Most of us travel on them every single day. We use them to get to work, to go to the grocery store, to visit family, and to travel from town to town. We might think about them a lot, but Colorado has a lot of them.

We're talking about state highways, and Colorado has a total of 205 active routes within its state lines. Numbered from Colorado State Highway 1 to 394, many of us have driven on one of these roads without even knowing it is an actual highway.

Colorado may have 394 numbered highways, but not all are active. Many of these highways have been decommissioned or have been reassigned over the decades, and road expansions in Colorado.

One of the last highways on the list is State Highway 392 in Northern Colorado. More often than not, I am usually on this road daily as it is part of my regular commute down Main Street in Windsor.
Colorado’s Longest State Highway: SH-14
Here are a couple of interesting facts that you might not know when it comes to Colorado's State highways. The longest state highway in Colorado is State Highway 14 in Northern Colorado.

Spanning 237 miles through Jackson, Larimer, Weld, and Logan counties, this stretch of highway will take you from Muddy Pass in the high country of the Rocky Mountains to the eastern plains of Colorado, ending in Sterling.
The Shortest Highway in Colorado: SH-110
The shortest in Colorado is State Highway 110, spanning a mere 740 feet in the southwestern part of the mountain town of Silverton. This highway used to be much longer, but was deleted north of the town of Silverton in 2003.
