Colorado Wildfires Burn Thousands of Acres Across the State

Most of Colorado is experiencing some form of drought. Hot, dry conditions throughout Colorado have increased the risk of wildfires in the Rocky Mountain region.

Sadly, a few wildfires have popped up in Colorado over the past few days. Some of these wildfires have already burned thousands of acres in just a few days.

Here is a current list of ongoing wildfires in the state of Colorado as of Monday, June 29, 2026, according to 9News.

Snyder Fire - Mesa County, Colorado

This wildfire is burning near the Colorado-Utah border and was first reported on Friday, June 26, 2026. As of Monday morning, the fire has burned over 28,000 acres and has zero containment.

This wildfire claimed the lives of three firefighters and injured two when crews were overcome by the fire on Saturday.

Ferris Fire - Dolores County, Colorado

This wildfire was first reported on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the Glade Area near the Narraguinnep Canyon. The estimated fire size as of Monday morning was 15,888 acres with zero containment.

Gold Mountain Fire - Ouray County, Colorado

The Gold Mountain Fire was first reported on Saturday, June 27, 2026, burning just north of the town of Ouray. As of Sunday evening, the Gold Mountain Fire has burned 4,275 acres with zero percent containment.

Willow Fire - Lake County, Colorado

The Willow Fire was first reported on Sunday, June 29, 2026, burning west of Leadville, Colorado, near Turquoise Lake. As of Monday morning, the fire has burned 1,200 acres and is at zero percent containment.

Aspen Acres Fire - Custer County and Pueblo County, Colorado

The Aspen Acres Fire is near a neighborhood in southwest Pueblo and was first reported Monday, June 29, 2026. According to KRDO, numerous mandatory evacuations have been enacted, including the towns of Beulah, San Isabel, and Rye. As of 5:24 p.m. on Monday, the Aspen Acres Fire has burned approximately 23,000 acres with zero percent containment.
