This year, I really wanted to try and step out of my comfort zone. I made a conscious decision that I would explore new hobbies, media, and even foods.

One of my only drawbacks about hiking is just how often you have to worry about mosquitoes and ticks.

Forty-five of them actually can be found right here in Colorado. These creatures can transmit and carry the West Nile virus. So, make sure to be extra careful if you are hitting the trails this summer.

If you want to avoid mosquitoes but still love hiking, maybe avoid wearing these colors.
One of the most common of the mosquito species reportedly flies towards the following colors:
- Red
- Orange
- Black
- Cyan
If you are like me and aren't too sure what exactly cyan is, it's aquamarine or a sort of blue green.
