Have you gotten something for dad?

Well folks, dad's big day is coming up very soon. June 20th is when Father's Day falls this year and the big question is what are you doing for dear old dad? If you answered with "nothing", it might mean that you haven't started the planning yet. And that's OK however, you might want to get on it since we are now just days away.

Along with Mother's Day, I think it's always a good idea to write a letter. Tell dad what he really means to you. It may not be perfect, but it's something he can hold onto forever. I've always loved this idea and after losing my mom earlier this year, I really think it's the perfect gift. Tell him how much you love him before it's too late.

Of course, enjoying each other's company while eating a delicious meal is a solid choice. And you can always supplement this with a great gift. But what can you get the man that seams to have everything? Or maybe you're dad doesn't like gifts and constantly tells you that he doesn't need anything.

In Colorado, it looks like we are giving dad the gift of golf. A recent survey looked at the gifts that we most searched for Father's Day in each state and in Colorado, we searched "golf." Now, I know plenty of dads who love to golf so a gift certificate or a surprise tee time would be an ideal gift. Especially after the stresses of last year.

Perhaps your dad doesn't like to golf. If you're looking for other fabulous gifts, I thought this list from the Chicago Tribune had some stellar ideas. There's a gift for just about every type of dad on there or, at the very least, it will spark an idea within you that is perfect for pops.

These are also great ideas for your spouse or brother or friend who is a dad.
