As the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, the Colorado Eagles serve as a crucial farm club just down I-25 at Loveland's Budweiser Events Center.

Now that the Avalanche have already clinched a playoff spot, some key Colorado Eagles players are being called up to help finish out the stretch run.

Last week, the Avalanche called up four players from the Eagles squad:

  • Forward Martin Kaut
  • Forward Miikka Salomaki
  • Defenseman Keaton Middleton
  • Goaltender Adam Werner

Kaut specifically credited his Eagles coaching for helping him return a trip back to the NHL squad in Denver.

Kaut is third on the Eagles with 14 points this season, including five goals.

Salomaki has 9 points for the Eagles (2 goals, 7 assists) while Middleton has two assists and Werner has a 2.41 goals allowed average in seven games.

Jayson Menga was also reassigned back to the Colorado Eagles during the round of transactions.
