Could Financial Incentives Encourage Coloradans to Work Out More?

We are in the heart of spring right now in Colorado, and WE'RE LOVING IT!

Winter is in the rearview mirror as we gear up for summer. Once the weather gets nice and warm, my motivation to exercise comes back with a vengeance.

I don't know about you, but in the winter months, I don't have any urge to work out. I just want to stay at home, cuddled under my blankets and just binge watch Netflix.

However, if I got some money to exercise during the coldest times of the year here in the Centennial State, I might reconsider it.

A Game-Changer in Ohio: New Law to Incentivize Gym Memberships

I was scrolling through social media the other day, when I came across a video from Ohio reporter Natalie Fahmy. She was explaining the details of an Ohio law that would financially incentivize residents to work out.

Senate Bill 89 was introduced in the Ohio Legislature earlier this year.

The aim of the bill would be to give residents with either a personal trainer or gym membership a deduction on their personal income taxes.

This deduction could be upwards of $1,500, and they would pay up to $200 in a nonrefundable tax credit.

Do you think this would change people's minds about working out?

For me, the reason I prefer at-home workouts or outdoor activities over going to the gym is the cost of a membership.
